Public Sector Business Development Manager - Americas


Job description

SOGET is a global independent software vendor, leader in Port Community System (PCS), a single window to manage multimodal trade logistics processes at seaports, airports, inland ports and borders posts between public and private stakeholders, bringing fluidity to trading across borders. We work with government organizations, private sector and global and regional alliances to facilitate and secure trade. Our offering includes PCS license, PCS implementation professional services, systems integration, high-end data center technology, cloud management software and cybersecurity, maintenance and support services and PCS operator development advisory services.

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented, public sector business development manager to join our corporate development team to begin an exciting and challenging career to drive revenue growth in the Americas.

Position responsabilities

  • Responsible for identifying, qualifying, leading, negotiating and closing large and complex sales in the public sector in Northern, Central, South America and the Caribbean
  • Develops comprehensive new business opportunity plans to assist in the identification and further qualification of sales opportunities with both existing and new clients
  • Leverages knowledge and expertise of the operations, portfolio to identify, qualify and close sales opportunities
  • Develops client relationships based on value creation and trust
  • Acquires an in-depth understanding of the political and organizational structure of targeted prospects and current competitive landscape
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines 

Your profile

  • Education: Master's degree in business, information system or computer science
  • Language: Bilingual English and Spanish 
  • Experience: 5+ years of public sector solution sales experience selling large and complex licence and professional services contracts
  • Requirements:
    • Possesses shipping, airlines, seaports, airports, inland ports, logistics, customs and OGAs industry, technology and client knowledge necessary to provide creative and differentiating solutions
    • Experience with global shipping lines and airlines, terminal operators, logistics operators
    • Establishes, develops and manages relationships at the senior executive levels
    • Understands public sector buying criteria, procurement and understands the current competitive landscape
    • Must be able to challenge established practices diplomatically and take necessary risks to achieve these differentiation solutions
    • Experience in the information technology, telecommunication and software industry
    • Experience in Northern, Central, South America and the Caribbean
