PCS vital role spotted out at the EC e-Maritime conference

    Following the European Commission e-Maritime conference held from 22d to 23rd November in Brussels, EPCSA published a press release on the conclusions of the conference on the major role of Port Community Systems in EU Single Window policy. This conference aimed to set the background to the ‘e-Maritime story’.

    On this occasion, Pascal Ollivier, chairman of the European Port Community Systems Association, addressed the new challenges of e-business in European ports and for the transport sector as a whole. Another major statement came from ESPO representative Txaber Goiri urging national authorities to maintain and integrate existing Port Community Systems as entry points within the national Single Windows.

Nomination of RORO MAX project: "Supply Chain Kings 2013"

    The RORO MAX project is one of 8 nominees (out of 31 contestants) in the  "Supply Chain Kings 2013 " contest organized by Supply Chain Magazine.

    RORO Max Project aims to increase Port of Le Havre RoRo traffic by improving services and optimising physical and data flows.

    This nomination is already a success because it highlights the common work of : Le Havre RoRo terminal stakeholders, CRITT, Le Havre Port Authority, Customs Authorities, SOGET and involved laboratories.

    The project will be presented on  January, 16th to the 500 logistics decision-makers audience for the election of the 3 best projects.

IPC II implements the largest Port Community System in the World with SOGET

    The Indonesia Port Corporation II has chosen the solutions provided by SOGET and Microsoft Corp. to implement the largest Port Community System in the World. The System will initially be deployed in Jakarta, before further expansion to other Indonesian ports.
    Indonesia is the largest archipelagos in the world with 17,508 islands and 111 commercial and 614 non-commercial ports operated within the area. As a result, quick and efficient port operations are crucial to the development and the competitiveness of the country.
